Soul |
Example: Soul Edge/Shadow x4 + Crit x2 Position 2/4/6: SPD/ATK/Crit Dmg Soul Edge is the number one choice for SP Onikir since he synergizes very well with this Soul. When Soul Edge triggers, he can also trigger his parry. This way, he can protect allies while silencing enemies. Shadow is a viable option for him especially if you have another Shikigami on Soul Edge. Shadow would be easier to achieve 100% critical than Soul Edge and deals much more damamge. I think SPD is the most important stat for SP Onikiri with the way he raises his own move bar. The challenge is really getting 100% critcal when you have to build Crit Dmg. I would recommend going for Crit Dmg on slot 6 if you can get >80% crit. |

Sample Team |
Hakuzosu, SP Shuten, SP Onikiri, Dodomeki, Juzu, with Yao Bikuni
This is one of the teams that can counter control teams. Espeically if there are more than one control units on the enmy side. Juzu and Yao Bikuni can dispell while a fast Dodomeki can inflict counter control on enemies. SP Onikiri is a good partner for Dodomeki since enemies would do more normal attacks under Dodomeki control, and that would mean more chances for SP Onikiri to silence enemies. SP Onikiri fits in very well in this type of mid speed team and acts as a counter measure. |
Shikigami Comparison |
Onikiri – The only similarity between these two is name only. Onikiri is pure offensive while SP Onikiri is more balanced. If you prefer fast teams, then SSR Onikiri is a better choice. If your team is slower, SP Onikiri would be your best attacker. |

Sample Gameplay |
There should be some gameplay with SP Oni in my Hoshiguma Doji video below
I will do one to show his mechanics pretty soon since I use him quite a bit. |
Verdict |
SP Onikiri is one of the best DPS in this meta. Especially if you need some survivability to counter fast attack teams.
He’s for PvP only so if you are only doing PvE, you don’t really need to level him up. He can inflict control effect, speed himself up, block damage, deal massive damage, and has two lives. That’s about as much as you can ask from a DPS (well of course there is SP Shuten…) Soul wise he is actually quite demanding. His best soul is fast Soul Edge critical damage set. Getting full crit % Soul Edge critical damage set is hard enough, but now you need to get enough SPD as well. I couldn’t get a good set on him so I run on a 93% critical. I think SPD is more important for him. If you don’t have a good set of Soul, consider using him a secondary DPS and bring another more reliable attacker. He’s very straightforward to use. The only thing to consider is knowing when to place shadow and when to just attack and take out enemy core units. I’ve players obsessed with placing a shadow and wait one more turn before they attack. |
