The Jizo Statue is a strong defensive Soul that provides shields for both the Soul holder and the party members at a certain chance. Tree Nymph has a chance to reduce the enemies’ Orb and hence able to disrupt their attack sequence if multiple instances are triggered. Having the party linked together increases the chance of triggering the Soul’s effect. Pos 2 = Speed/HP, Pos 4 = Resist, Pos 6 = HP. Jizo Statue can be used in both PvE and PvP, while Tree Nymph is only useful in PvP.

The Mirror Lady can reflect damage upon the enemies’ attack, but it won’t work as good while the party is linked as the damage is now shared and hence a lower reflected damage. This is usually used in PvP modes.

If your team lacks Orb, you can use the Fortune Cat Soul but it is not as recommended as Jizo Statue and Tree Nymph.

The only lineup which doesn’t utilize her that much for debuff clearance is the following:

Arena PvP: Kamaitachi, Ame Onna, Hououga, DPS X 2 (Fire Rain team build)

• Kamaitachi, Ame Onna, Hououga, DPS X 2 (Fire Rain team build)
• This build is mainly used to trigger the Hououga’s passive skill for an additional chance for stunning the enemies, with the effect of Ame Onna slowing enemies down.
• This also provides chances to clear debuffs if the party is being debuffed during the middle of a battle
• DPS recommendations – Ootengu, Evil Blade Princess, Ubume, Ibaraki Doji, etc.

Shikigami partners:

There is no particular Shikigami that she works particularly well with.  Having her on any team would be a big help if the enemies are control based.

Shikigami enemies:

• Hannya – Hannya is able to seal all passive skills and Soul effects. If the Ame Onna is being sealed as well as being under the Chaos/Provoked status, her passive skill will not release her from the debuff.
• Arakawa Lord / Hakuro – These two Shikigamis with the right [Shadow] Soul will be able to kill almost any Shikigami within one hit. This applies to the Ame Onna as well.

Soul Dungeon:

Ame Onna is not used for either the 8 Headed Serpent (Orochi) Soul Dungeon nor the solo Soul Dungeon.

Aobozu’s active skill [Zen] is able to dispel all buffs from the enemies and deal 50% additional damage to summoned allies such as the Goldfish or Ebisu’s Healing Flag. He provides support as well as some DPS, however, he lacks the ability to clear his own allies’ debuffs like the Ame Onna.

Similar to Aobozu, Sakura’s active skill [Sakura Rain] can dispel all buffs from the enemies with a reduction in healing efficiency. However, she lacks the ability to clear allies’ debuffs.

Ebisu’s [Fish Flag] can dispel 2 random debuffs for the team, but this is only done when it is the turn of the flag. Furthermore, Ebisu’s main role is to heal, and this random debuff clearance is just an added bonus to the team.

Karasu Tengu is seldom used, but there are some high-end players who use it for DPS while juggling some debuff clearance. At max level, his active skill [Feather Cleansing] can clear 2 debuffs at a 90% chance at the beginning of his turn.

Usagi is one of the newest Shikigami introduced to the game. He is more superior to the Ame Onna because he can even dispell Daze and Transformation with his active skill [Guardian Heart]. Based on the number of carrots spent in activating this skill, he can increase his allies’ move bar as well. However, this debuff clearance can only target 1 ally.

Verdict

Ame Onna’s special skill [Heaven’s Tears] is able to dispel 2 dispellable buffs from the enemies. This includes attack increase, resistance increase, and even Shuten Doji’s [Frenzy] or Shishio’s [Transformation Layer]. In addition, she can remove up to 4 debuffs from her allies at a 67% chance. This is quite dependable and it is the best debuff clearance skill. Her passive skill [Cleansing Rain] dispel all her debuffs at the beginning of her turn, except for the undispellable debuffs like Stun and Shape Shift. This ensures that she will be able to help clear her allies’ debuffs most of the time during the battle. Her normal attack is not really worth mentioning.

Ame Onna is definitely one of the Support that everyone wants to have, and she works fine at 5-star even in high-end Arena. When facing enemies with only 1 Hannya or 1 Samurai X, as long as the Ame Onna is not Dazed or Transformed, she will be able to provide her whole team a chance to retaliate if her team does not die within an attack wave.
