Discussion

Seductress hands down.  I could not think of a more suitable Soul.  Focus on getting Crit % close to 100% so Seductress trigger as often as possible.  Pos. 2 and 4 should have ATK % to maximize attack power.

If you are using Kagura, try to get Yoto Hime’s speed above 128 (Kagura’s max SPD) for [Channel: Storm].  This is where it starts to get difficult since you are relying on secondary attributes.

Finally, you also want to maximize Crit Dmg for more damage.  At this stage, you will start to realize the difficulty of getting the perfect Soul as F2P and the power of money.

Sample Team

Yoto Hime fits very well in many teams as the main DPS.  The following are just examples of what she could do.

PvP:

1. Kamaitachi, Yamausagi, Zashiki, Ubume/OoTengu/Ibaraki Doji, Yoto Hime, with Kagura (Dual Accelerator build)

  • For this to work, you’ll need Kamaitachi to be as fast as possible and Yamausagi to be not far behind.  In high-level Duel, we are talking having SPD 200+.  If you could pull that off, you’d have the first chance of attack.  If the enemy is faster, that usually means gg since this build does not have that much survivability.
  • The AOE DPSs can do the first wave of attack to lower enemies’ HP, while Yoto Hime will do the clean-up.  If that’s not enough, Kagura can make Yoto Hime act again to finish the job.  In most cases, this should be enough.
  • The disadvantage of this build is that it is prone to crowd control builds or enemies who use the Soul [Mirror Lady].

2. Kamaitachi, Yumeikui, Zashiki, Yoto Hime, Maestro, with Kagura

  • A more well-rounded team set up but still rely on a fast Kamaitachi to act first.  Yumeikui will try to inflict sleep first then Yoto Hime goes in and takes out enemies one by one.  Maestro and Kagura will keep making Yoto Hime act again so ideally she could take out three enemies in the first turn.  Make sure to target enemy DPS first to avoid triggering Soul/passive effects of the supports.
  • The disadvantage of this build is that Yoto Hime is the only DPS.  If somehow she got taken out before crippling the enemy team, you’ve pretty much lost the match.

Soul 10 Dungeon:

Yamausagi, Zashki, Ootengu, Ubume, Yoto Hime, with Seimei (remember you could borrow from a whale friend)

Shikigami Comparison

Onmyoji Mobile Game - Shikigami PuppeteerPuppeteer – She’s also known as Yoto Hime junior.  In many aspects, both of their skills are similar.  [Puppet Combo] has only 5 hits but at a slightly higher ATK percentage.  [Golem: Follow-up] also offers the chance for extra attack.  The difference here is that [Golem: Follow-up] is dependent on the enemy’s max HP whereas [Extra Slice] does not.  Therefore, Puppeteer may have slightly better damage output versus bosses, whose max HP is much higher, and Yoto Hime is better at PVP.  Overall, Yoto Hime is still stronger with high stat points.

Onmyoji Mobile Game - Shikigami FutakuchiFutakuchi – She’s actually a random targeting Shikigami and therefore not directly comparable unless there is only one target left.  To me, this is her purpose anyway: Futakuchis much more useful going against Bosses than PVP.  She can do up to 8 hits to a boss of which the total damage could be massive.  She’s actually quite good in Bosses as well as Soul 10 but quite underwhelming in PVP.

Onmyoji Mobile Game - Shikigami YoukoYouko – He has the potential to deal extremely high damage but the drawback is too significant.  He’s too dependent on luck to be taken seriously.

Onmyoji Mobile Game - Shikigami HakuroHakuro – Another popular single target DPS.  She is one of the few Shikigamis who can make use of Crit. Dmg in Soul Position 6 early since she’s more lenient on Crt % Souls.  With proper Soul set up, it’s not uncommon to see her one-shot an enemy and then proceed to move again very quickly.  In terms of total damage output though, I would still think Yoto Hime has the advantage.  Each of these two has their advantages but I see Hakuro more PVP focused.

Arakawa Lord – Arakawa Lord is another top-tier DPS.  His value comes directly from his ability to break Shuzu’s [Water Circuit].  With how prevalent Shuzu is in Duel, Arakawa Lord is one of the more effective ways to counter.  Although he’s able to deal high damage, he’s not as valuable in PVE as he is in PVP.

Verdict

Yoto Hime is one of the favourites for Onmyoji fans.  How could you not love her when she’s as cute as she is deadly.  Yoto Hime’s role is very clear and simple: dealing huge single target damage.  Ever since her release, she has been number one single target attacker in the game.  So yea, if you are lucky enough to pull her, max her as soon as you can and don’t look back.

Her skills are all about damage.  [Savage Combo] has 6 hits that could benefit greatly from Seductress.  [Extra Slice] complements [Savage Combo] by chance for extra attack every time she deals damage.  With Seductress, you will lose count of how many times Yoto Hime attacks in a round.

I would rate her as the best single target DPS in the game.  While she is pretty much used everywhere, Yoto Hime excels, especially in PVP and Bosses.

Farming (3.5/5.0)

Yoto Hime has high damage and can definitely carry fodders.  However, she could not finish Exploration stages fast enough to compete with other AOE DPSs.  There are better Shikigamis out there to carry fodders.

Duel/Raid (4.5/5.0)

As the top single target DPS, Yoto Hime is very useful in PVP.  She excels at picking off enemy units one by one.  One key use for her is to be the second wave attack after the AOE DPS reduces enemies’ HP by a significant amount.  Yoto Hime would then go in to take out a few enemies in her turn.  At the same time, her attacking other enemies after killing one off may trigger the enemies’ passives or Soul effects unintentionally.

One thing to note is her speed.  If you want to take advantage of Kagura’s [Channel: Storm], make sure Yoto Hime’s speed is above 128.  This way she acts before Kagura.

Soul Dungeon (4.0/5.0)

She deals high damage to any enemy units which is helpful in Soul Dungeon.  Against Orochi itself, Yoto Hime is no doubt one of the top DPS.  However, in fights leading up to Orochi she may need some help.  Without a good team to support, she may not be able to finish enemies off in time.  In Soul 10, the best case is to finish enemies off before they act.  Ootengu or Ubume in the regard is more effective than single target damage dealers.

Guild Kirin / Kraken / Boss Battles (5.0/5.0)

Yoto Hime equipping with Seductress is the obvious choice here.  Seductress has very high damage output against enemies with ultra-high HP.  There are not many tricks here but to build a team around Yoto Hime to make sure she survives as long as she could.

Weakness:

Onmyoji Game - ShuzuShuzu – This is universal for all single-target DPS.  If you see Shuzu puts up [Water Circuit] and have no backup plan, you might as well quit.  This is common with having strong DPS like Yoto Hime: players usually go with fast Accelerators hoping to attack first and finish the fight in one wave.  In the higher level arena, this approach does not always work and people would start thinking a more well-rounded team.

Mirror Lady – This Soul is quite popular amongst supports.  Yoto Hime would deal 6 hits to an enemy so it’s very likely Mirror Lady would reflect one or two hits if the enemy has her.  Since Yoto Hime deals high damage, I wouldn’t be surprised if she kills herself before the enemy.

Onmyoji Mobile Game - Shikigami HitotsumeSoul Edge Hitotsume – Stay away from this guy.  If you see him in Duel, exercise caution cause he’s up to no good.  Once he’s attacked, the whole enemy team would start reflecting damage.  This is the last thing you want to happen to you.  This is more of a nightmare for AOE DPS than Yoto Hime unless the Hitotsume has Soul Edge in which case it’s all RNG.

Control Shikigamis/Souls – This is the same for DPS in general since they don’t have high enough Effect RES to matter.

There is not much I could say.  Yoto Hime is the helm of single target DPS for a long time to come.  If you have her, then, by all means, upgrade her to G6 and give her good Souls.  If you want her, good luck trying to pull an SSR.  With her release this week, there is a 2.5 times chance up to pull her so this may be the best time to use your tickets.
