Evolution Ability Enhance [Golden Feather]: Itsumade grows 1 – 3 Golden Feathers every turn.  1 feather will be attached to the enemy who attacks her.  Each feather will reduce enemies’ Defense by 5% and reduce healing effects received by 5%.  An enemy can have 3 feathers maximum.  When Itsumade is defeated, she will explode all the feathers on the field dealing 20% attach damage each feather.  Upon Awakening, Itsumade has a 50% chance to assist in teammates’ normal attacks.

Discussion:

Just by looking at the stats, Itsumade is an attacking Shikigami for sure.  With the multi-attack nature, she’s able to incorporate some controls too.

Seductress – Probably the Soul that’ll give her the highest damage output.  At high Crit %, Seductress will proc often from Itsumade’s multi-hit normal and special attacks.  At maximum, she’ll have 5 hits per enemy from her Feather Dance

Mimic – Itsumade is more likely to use Mimic as a single target control since her Feather Dance takes time to build up.  Her normal attack is already multi-hit so Mimic makes her effective in single target controls.

Dawn Fairy – Dawn Fairy does not require Effect HIT so Itsumade can focus on building herself to be an attacker while still be able to disrupt enemies with the Soul effect.

Soultaker – Soultaker increases Itsumade’s attack frequency.  Not only does this increase straight damage output, but also lets Itsumade unleashes her Feather Dance before Ame Onna has a chance to dispel her feathers.

Itsumade has the same stat focus as many AOE DPSs, namely Ubume.  AKT and Crit % will be key.  Crit DMG is a nice add-on once Crit % is maxed.  If control Souls are used, Effect HIT should be in position 4.  In reality, I think Itsumade could do more as a DPS than a control.

Sample Team

Shouzu, Ame Onna, Vampira, Itsumade, Chocho, with Hiromasa

In here, Itsumade is enlisted by the counter team for her ability to do damage without orbs and her assist.  Shouzu is the key of this team to trigger counters and enhance survivability.  Note that Shouzu has an interesting relationship with Itsumade.  While Water Circuit can attach feathers to enemies, this would decrease Itsumade’s feather count and she’ll attack fewer times when she assists.  At the same time though, attaching feathers to enemies would increase the damage of her Feather Dance.  Since we don’t have an orb provider in this setup, Shouzu needs to be fast with Fortune Cat.  Ame Onna is a great utility as usual.  I chose Chocho here for her swiftness when allies are in critical HP count.  The key attackers are Vampira along with Itsumade’s assist.  Itsumade can just use her multi-hit normal attack at the beginning of the fight and wait for feathers to be attached to the enemies.  Hiromasa is there to assist the attacks being the offensive Onmyoji.  Other Onmyojis can be considered depending on the enemy’s team.

PvP

Enemy Ame Onna can dispel feathers but comparatively, Itsumade’s performance is not as heavily affected as opposed to, say, Shuten Doji.  DOT, Damage-over-time, such as Poison effects will cause Itsumade to drop feathers, which is sometimes not ideal if the feathers run out before the enemy DPS get any.  Half DPS half control works for her by focusing on attacking stats and control Souls.  Her weakness is that she is fragile with a C HP rank.  She often needs protection from Shouzu or other Shielding Shikigamis

Soul

Itsumade needs some warm up so doesn’t really fit the Soul environment.  Though, she can act as an AOE DPS as is.  Although not as effective as Ubume without attaching feathers, she can act as a secondary DPS to help go through Soul challenges.

PVE

Her mechanics actually has a bit of conflict with Ushi no Toki, who is the key to PvE contents.  Feathers will get attached to Bosses that attack Itsumade, but not to the Straw Doll that players want to attack.  In addition, many Bosses couldn’t be attached feathers as they are considered as debuffs, I think Assembly Bosses can be attached feathers.  Without taking feathers into account, Itsumade is still a solid ST DPS.  Her normal attack has 2 – 4 hits each time.  At 60% ATK damage per hit, she does 240% ATK damage max without the use of orbs

Shikigami Comparison

Onmyoji Mobile Game - Shikigami UbumeUbume – Itsumade was considered the younger sister of Ubume for their resemblance.  In addition, they are both AOE DPS and able to assist in attacks.  You can count on them both to be great attackers.  The difference is that Itsumade relies, on a certain degree, a lot on getting feathers attached to enemies.  Without Feathers attached, she can’t assist and has limited damage to her AOE attack.  Therefore, at the beginning of the fight, most of her damage would come from normal attacks since your opponent would know to avoid hitting her if possible.  Ubume is more straightforward and reliable in my opinion.  Her assist chance is less than that of Itsumade’s but at least she does not have to rely on an additional mechanism.  On paper, Itsumade’s AOE potentially out damages Ubume, but I still prefer the later in practice.

Shuten Doji – Itsumade is often considered as Shuten Junior with her multi-hit normal attack.  Of course, she’ll not as effective as a single target attacker.  Itsumade’s max number of normal attack is 4 while Shuten has 5.  Itsumade only does 60% ATK damage for each normal attack while Shuten does 100%.  Immediately we can sense the difference in maximum damage.  Itsumade does take a lot less time to warm up and recharge than Shuten though.  Shuten also wins big on the survivability side so there really isn’t much competition.  Then, of course, one is SSR so is much less likely to come by.

Verdict

Itsumade’s biggest advantage is that she can be used in many situations.  Her disadvantage is that there are always better choices for every situation.  Essentially a jack of all trades and master of none.  Of course, she has the damage potential so I would expect to see some deadly Itsumades in PvP but she is not one of those Shikigamis you need to G6 asap.  There are better investments out there unless you really like her character design.  People often compare her to Itsumade and as we all know, the standard answer will always be to G6 Ubume first if you don’t have Ootengu.

Farming (3.5/5.0)

Her AOE attack has high enough damage to carry fodders so this is an alternative to the popular Ubume.

Duel/Raid (3.0/5.0)

Her mechanism can catch quite a few players off guard at the beginning.  Once people get used to her, they would just avoid hitting her to limit the number of feathers.  Of course, she’ll be able to fit into certain teams but overall, she’s not overly popular in high-level PvP

Boss Battles (3.5/5.0)

As compared to PvP, Itsumade does have more presence in PvE.  Despite the Feather Mechanism not working well with Ushi no Toki, Itsumade is occasionally used in many Bosses like Kirin, Kraken, Totem, etc.  These fights are long enough for Itsumade to build up Feathers for powerful attacks.

Soul (2.5/5.0)

Itsumade can be used as secondary DPS to Soul 10 runs.  Don’t expect crazy damage from her since Soul 10 goes very fast.  For Sougenbi, I am not sure if the Bosses can be attached Feathers.  If they can, then Itsumade is potentially a powerful ally.

I see Itsumade as a transitional Shikigami since she can cover quite a bit of everything.  Once you developed the specialized Shikigamis for each area, you’ll find that she is barely used anymore.  If you are really into her design, though, there should be little reason not to G6 her since she doesn’t disappoint.
